Shotted — Privacy Policy

Our core promise: Your screenshots and extracted content are never stored on our servers. Shotted is privacy-first by design.

1. Overview

Shotted ("we", "our", "the app") is a screenshot intelligence app for iOS. This Privacy Policy explains what data we access, how we process it, and your rights regarding that data.

2. Data We Access

Shotted may request access to the following on your device:

Photos Library — to read screenshots for processing and optionally delete them after extraction.
Calendar — to create calendar events from information extracted from your screenshots.
Reminders — to create reminders from information extracted from your screenshots.

All permissions are optional and requested only when the relevant feature is used. You can revoke any permission at any time in iOS Settings.

3. How Your Data Is Processed

When you process a screenshot:

The screenshot image is sent to our backend server over an encrypted (TLS) connection.
Our server forwards the image to an AI model for text extraction and analysis.
The structured result (summary, key points, events, tasks) is returned to your device.
No screenshot content, extracted text, or analysis results are stored on our servers. Processing is entirely in-memory and ephemeral.

Zero-retention policy: Our backend has no database for user content. No screenshot data, OCR text, or extracted summaries are persisted server-side — ever.

4. Sign in with Apple

Shotted uses Sign in with Apple for account authentication. When you sign in, we receive:

A unique user identifier (opaque ID provided by Apple)
Your email address (if you choose to share it)

This information is used solely to authenticate your account and manage your subscription. We do not sell, share, or use this data for advertising purposes.

5. Subscription & Payments

Subscriptions are processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not collect, process, or store any payment information. All billing is managed by Apple.

6. On-Device Storage

All processed data — summaries, extracted events, tasks, and thumbnails — is stored locally on your device. This data is fully under your control. You can delete all local data at any time from the app's Settings page.

7. Analytics & Tracking

Shotted does not use any third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking frameworks. We do not track your activity across other apps or websites.

8. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. The only external service your data touches is the AI processing endpoint, which operates under our zero-retention policy.

9. Data Deletion

You can delete all Shotted data at any time:

Open the app → Settings → "Delete All Local Data"
Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data

Since we store no data on our servers, there is nothing to delete server-side.

10. Children's Privacy

Shotted is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
